About Case Closed Software
Led by senior executives with a proven track record of building real technology companies, Case Closed Software brings that same operational depth to the investigative platform law enforcement has always deserved.
Case Closed Software started with a simple frustration: investigative work was being managed with tools built for something else entirely. Records management systems built for patrol reporting. Spreadsheets standing in for case management. Confidential informant files locked in a filing cabinet because no software vendor had bothered to build something purpose-made for that job.
In 2016, Crime Tech Solutions acquired Case Closed Software and rebuilt it entirely around that problem — not a records system with investigation features bolted on, a platform built from the ground up around how investigators, narcotics units, gang units, criminal intelligence teams, and confidential informant handlers actually work.
Today, Case Closed Software is deployed at agencies ranging from small sheriff's offices to the City of Dallas Police Department, the State of Idaho Office of the Attorney General, and federal investigative units — running real cases, tracking real intelligence, and holding up under real audits.
Chief Executive Officer
Doug has spent 35 years in technology marketing and building businesses. He built Infoglide Software, an Austin-based provider of entity resolution and social network analysis technology used across banking, insurance, and government to detect fraud, and led the company as EVP of Global Sales and Corporate Secretary through its acquisition by FICO in 2013. He went on to found Compliaas, a financial compliance-as-a-service platform later acquired by an undisclosed buyer in the money services business industry. Doug founded Crime Tech Solutions in 2016 with a straightforward goal: build the investigative case management platform law enforcement actually deserved. He is CJIS Level IV Certified.
Director, Development & Operations
Chris joined Case Closed Software in 2020 as a Junior Software Engineer and has since worked his way up to lead the engineering team and operational processes behind the platform. Before moving into software, Chris taught in the classroom and later served as an instructional lead training the next generation of software engineers — experience that shows in how he approaches training and onboarding every new agency today. He is CJIS Level IV Certified and holds a degree in Information Technology from Western Governors University.
Director of Finance
Sharon brings 20 years of finance experience from a major telecommunications company and has been with Crime Tech Solutions since its founding in 2016. She previously served as CFO of Compliaas, where she helped lead the company through a successful exit — experience she now brings to overseeing the financial operations that keep Case Closed Software running as it grows to serve agencies nationwide.
We don't do PowerPoint decks. We log in and show you the software. We don't lock you into rigid workflows — every field, every dropdown, every module is configurable to how your agency actually operates. And we don't disappear after the sale — every agency gets a dedicated project manager for the life of the account.
"We didn't build Case Closed Software for a single type of crime or a single type of user. It flexes and grows with the mission."
— Douglas Wood, Chief Executive Officer
Case Closed Software is built and continuously developed by a dedicated engineering team, supported by a network of contractors and dedicated resources across the globe, with deep experience in secure, CJIS-aligned application architecture. Our development approach prioritizes security, configurability, and rapid iteration based directly on feedback from the agencies we serve — not features built in isolation from the people who actually use them.
Every module is built and hosted to standards agencies can independently verify — not just claimed, but demonstrated.
Providing dedicated, single-tenant, CJIS-compliant infrastructure for every agency we serve. No shared servers, no data commingling.
Case Closed is built on Microsoft's enterprise technology stack, including .NET and SQL Server.
Small sheriff's offices. Multi-jurisdictional drug task forces. State attorneys general. Federal investigative units. Confidential informant handlers, gang units, criminal intelligence teams, and human trafficking task forces. If your agency runs real investigations, we built this for you.
